The Shanghai Chair designed by Rune Krøjgaard and Knut Bendik Humlevik is a modern interpretation of the ancient Chinese Horseshoe Chair. The inspiration for this iconic design goes back more than 700 years, to a chair dating back to the Yuan Dynasty. The Marco Polo was still in China during this period. The Shanghai Chair features a steam bent solid ash wood frame and a seat of paper cord or leather. The back and the armrest play a central role in the chair’s construction, giving it an iconic shape and firm support. The high back provides comfortable support and the armrest effortlessly surrounds the body of the chair, providing both comfort and style.

All Domestic US shipping is by UPS, FEDEX or USPS. All orders are shipped from within the United States.


Orders with in stock inventory will be fulfilled within 1-2 business days (excluding holidays). Please note your order may encounter delays once shipped with UPS/FEDEX or USPS due to COVID-19, increased shipping volume or inclement weather which is out of our control.

We also offer White Glove Delivery Service as an add-on option on our checkout page.


If White Glove Delivery is purchased, then our uniformed and professionally trained delivery team will do the following:


- We blanket wrap and shrink-wrap the order and load it onto one of our home delivery trucks.


- We call you 30 minutes before our arrival. Upon arrival, we perform a walk-through to assess where the product(s) needs to be placed


- We then bring the order to the room of choice and unpack the product(s)


- We will set up the order according to your wishes, including 30 minutes of assembly


- We always clean the area upon leaving so the you can enjoy your new purchase right away!
